Basketball tryouts need to show how players use their capabilities with teammates and opponents. Jump height, sprint speed and uncontested shooting can describe parts of performance, but they do not show the whole interaction that produces a useful basketball action.
Include situations in which the player must recognize an opening, respond to the defense and coordinate with someone else. Treat the session as evidence about what happened under those conditions, not a complete prediction of the player's future.
